A very big Welcome to you all! If you have come over from my old site, I thank you. Please keep visiting here. The old blog will stay up for reference.
If you are new, the link to it is on this blog.
If you are new, I am Runningonempty, I am married to Hubby, and Acerules is my daughter. I sometimes use guest posters, leave a note in the comments section if you’re interested in writing.
Please, all be patient because I am still trying to figure out this new site.
REMEMBRANCE DAY 11/11/18
———————————————The first batch of photographs are from early October, when Acerules and I visited the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, Victoria. The Shrine was completed in the 1930s to commemorate Australians that died in the Great War (WW1).

The design is modelled on ancient temples.
In the centre is a bronze statue.

There are no windows.

An artifact much like an ark of the covenant. Above it is the ANZAC insignia.
Poppies grew on the battlefields after the war.
Even the stairwells are impressive.
Acerules feels the solemnity.

At 11th hour of 11/11 a shaft of sunlight shines on the word love. Shown is a simulation.

A memorial in the garden.
Australian military that fell in other wars are also remembered.

A military training facility across the road.

Acerules battled a headache.
This second batch of photos was taken after a Remembrance Day ceremony in our district on 11 th November. It was 100 years since Armistice Day, when WW1 ended. Locals crocheted poppies decorated with buttons.
